Relying on Yunnan's unique multi-ethnic cultural resources, this course integrates the theoretical methods of art, aesthetics, ethnology, anthropology, sociology, history, and other disciplines to construct a research paradigm of dress culture that seeks to know from the truth.

This free, self-paced course applies precise field research methods to investigate and collect ethnic costumes and their cultures, accurately and systematically explaining their value system and structural framework. It provides a reliable data base, ideological basis, and methodology for the protection, inheritance, and innovative development of Chinese ethnic costume culture.

The programme explores new ideas and ways of combining the study of ethnic folk costumes with teaching practice and heritage research through the study of ethnic culture, the transmission of costume skills, and the study of costume design.
