Scholarship Description

The QuestBridge National College Match is a prestigious program that connects high-achieving high school seniors from low-income backgrounds with full four-year scholarships to 55 of the nation's top colleges and universities. Through this program, students can apply for free for early admission and a full four-year scholarship, worth over $360,000.

QuestBridge's mission is to bridge the gap between the nation's brightest minds and the opportunities they deserve. The National College Match application is specifically designed to give students extra space to showcase their unique talents, stories, and determination, allowing college partners to see how applicants have excelled academically despite financial hardship.

Beyond college acceptance, QuestBridge Scholars join a supportive community of over 35,000 QuestBridge Scholars and Alumni, gaining access to lifelong opportunities, networking, graduate school scholarships, and career development.

Scholarship Location

The scholarship is for study at one of 55 partner colleges and universities across the United States. Partner institutions include many of the nation's top liberal arts colleges and research universities.

Target Group

• Demonstrate strong writing ability and intellectual curiosity
• Come from a household earning less than $65,000 annually (for a household of four) with minimal assets
• Demonstrate resilience, integrity, and motivation to succeed

QuestBridge serves students from all 50 U.S. states, Washington D.C., and U.S. territories.

Scholarship Duration & Amount

Award: Full four-year scholarship covering tuition, fees, room, board, and other expenses. The scholarship is worth over $360,000 for the full four years.

Scholarship Eligibility

Essential criteria:

• Academic achievement: Primarily A's in the most challenging courses available. Strong writing ability and intellectual curiosity.
• Financial need: Household earning less than $65,000 annually (for a household of four) with minimal assets. Financial criteria may vary slightly based on household size and circumstances.
• Personal qualities: Resilience, integrity, and motivation to succeed.
• Citizenship: U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and eligible non-citizens (including DACA recipients) are eligible.
• Enrollment: Current high school senior graduating in the 2026-2027 academic year.

Application Procedure

1. Check eligibility – Ensure you meet the academic, financial, and citizenship requirements. Assess your household income and academic record.
2. Create a QuestBridge account – Visit www.questbridge.org and create an account to begin the application process.
3. Complete the National College Match application – The application includes:
   • Academic information (transcripts, test scores, coursework)
   • Financial information (family income, assets, etc.)
   • Essays and short answer questions to showcase your story
   • Recommendations from teachers and counselors
   • School report and transcripts
4. Rank your college partners – You may rank up to 15 colleges you would like to be considered for through the Match. If matched, you receive a full four-year scholarship to that college.
5. Submit by the deadline – The application deadline is in September 2026. Check the QuestBridge website for the exact date.
6. Application review – QuestBridge reviews applications and selects National College Match Finalists in October.
7. Match decision – Finalists are matched to their ranked colleges in December. Students who are not matched may still apply through QuestBridge Regular Decision to partner colleges.
8. Celebrate – Matched students receive full four-year scholarships and join the QuestBridge Scholar community.

Important notes: The application is completely free. QuestBridge also offers the College Prep Scholar program for high school juniors. Students who are not matched can still apply to partner colleges through QuestBridge Regular Decision.
