Scholarship Description

The VIP Women in Technology Scholarship (WITS) is a prestigious scholarship program sponsored by Visionary Integration Professionals (VIP), a leading technology and system integration firm with over 1,300 customers nationwide. Now in its 20th year, the WITS program has supported 181 women pursuing degrees in computer science, information management systems, and other IT-related fields. VIP is proud to help women in their journey to becoming the great thinkers, achievers, and creators of tomorrow's information technology industry.

The program provides multiple scholarship awards of up to $2,500 per recipient. The scholarship is designed to support and empower women in technology, providing financial assistance to help them reach their academic goals and potential.

Scholarship Location

The scholarship is available to women attending accredited two-year or four-year colleges or universities within the United States. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal residents.

Scholarship Deadline

The application deadline for the 2026 WITS program is June 30, 2026 at midnight Pacific Time.

The scholarship is administered by the WITS Committee on behalf of Visionary Integration Professionals (VIP), a leading technology and system integration firm that has been supporting women in technology for over 20 years.

Level and Fields of Study

Level: Undergraduate (two-year or four-year programs) and graduate studies.

Eligible majors include:

• Computer Science
• Information Technology
• Management Information Systems (MIS)
• Other IT-related fields

Important: If you are an undecided major, you are not eligible. You must have a computer science, information technology, or another IT-related major to be considered. The scholarship is also available to women pursuing graduate degrees.

Target Group

The scholarship targets women who are U.S. citizens or legal residents planning a career in computer science, information technology, management information systems, or another related field. Applicants must be enrolled at, or accepted into, a two-year or four-year college or university within the United States.

Scholarship Amount

Award Amount: Up to $2,500 per recipient.

Number of Awards: Multiple scholarships are granted each year.

Payment: The scholarship award is made payable to the recipient's school's Office of Financial Aid prior to the start of Fall semester classes.

Program Impact: Since its inception, the WITS program has supported over 190 women pursuing degrees in technology-related fields.

Scholarship Eligibility

Essential criteria:

• Gender: Female.
• Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident.
• Enrollment: Must be enrolled at, or accepted into, a two-year or four-year college or university within the United States for the upcoming academic year. At the time of payment, must be enrolled for Fall semester classes.
• Major: Must be planning a career in computer science, information technology, management information systems, or another related field. Undecided majors are not eligible.
• GPA: Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Community service: No community service or extracurricular hour requirements.
• Income level: No income-based eligibility restrictions.
• Age: No age restrictions.

Also eligible:

• Women returning to college after an extended break (provided they meet all requirements).
• Graduate students (Master's or PhD level).

Application Procedure

1. Check eligibility – Ensure you meet all requirements: female, U.S. citizen or legal resident, 3.0+ GPA, computer science/IT major, enrolled/accepted at a U.S. college.
2. Visit the official website – Go to trustvip.com/wits-program-faqs to access the 2026 WITS application.
3. Prepare required documents – Gather the following:
   • Unofficial transcripts
   • Scholarship Response Video Submission (instead of an essay)
   • Signed Video Release Waiver
4. Complete the online application – The application is a Google form with attachment-required sections. Be prepared to attach all required documents at the time of submission.
5. Submit by the deadline – Electronic applications must be submitted by June 30, 2026 at midnight Pacific Time.
6. Await notification – Award winners will be notified by email no later than August 15, 2026.
