Scholarship Eligibility

Essential criteria:

• Course application: Must apply for a Postgraduate Research Course at the University of Warwick to begin in October 2026 (or 2027 for the next cycle). Eligible courses include: PhD, MPhil/PhD, EngD, or entering the PhD stage of an MRes+PhD.
• Start date: Must start in the academic year 2026/27 (or 2027/28 for the next cycle) — scholarships cannot be deferred to a future academic year.
• Enrollment status: Must not be a current Postgraduate Research student unless a specific scheme explicitly allows it.
• Discipline: Unless otherwise stated, applicants from any discipline are eligible.
• Nationality: Unless otherwise stated, applicants of any nationality or fee status are eligible.
• Academic excellence: Applicants must demonstrate outstanding academic potential and research capability.

Application Procedure

1. Prepare your research proposal and application materials – Warwick strongly advises preparing applications well in advance of the deadline. It is not usually possible to complete and submit an application in less than 36 hours.
2. Submit your course application – Apply for a Postgraduate Research Course at Warwick by the course application deadline. You must first submit the course application before you can access the scholarship application.
3. Receive your applicant ID – After submitting your course application, you will receive an automated email with a 7-digit applicant ID number. Please allow at least 48 hours for this to arrive.
4. Register your ITS applicant account – Use your applicant ID to register your account in the scholarship application system.
5. Submit your scholarship application – Complete the scholarship application form and upload all required supporting documents by the scholarship application deadline. A single scholarship application automatically considers you for all Doctoral College funding schemes for which you are eligible.
6. Wait for results – Results of the scholarships are communicated by email by the offer release date (for 2026 entry, by March 2, 2026). Each applicant receives one email covering the outcome of all schemes they were eligible for.
